JAMAICA BREEZE

.
This was the first time she had been home in a decade and it all seemed so new. Looking into the distance remembering her youth she smiled just a little. “There had been hard times but so many good ones ” she said with a warm sigh.
Continuing with tales of how she climbed the mango tree and scrapped her knees only to get a mouth full of maggots or christmas gifts that amass to nothing in this day and age.The girl that lived here had long gone, her hair has gone grey, but her eyes haven’t lost her sparkle. I drink in every inch of her face as she giggles at an intrusive memory long forgotten before she looks my way and says
“I wouldn’t change a thing!”
