The men came in the night, Sea heard the trembling ground as they stomped towards the Fire Santuary, her home. Shrouded in darkness she tried to ignite her flame but a brighter light dimmed it again. From the tips of her Grandmothers fingers came a sparkling light as she felt herself tumble deeper into the night. Sea had seen her life and death right before her very eyes in the blink of an eye. Then suddenly a sharp intake of breath and a jolt of life interrupted her sub consciousness drawing her back to reality. Tucked between the folds of her sheets she awakens with surprise, a feeling of dread surrounds her as she pads quietly through her home. Although everything remains, nothing is the same and everything as she once knew it was gone. Something is very wrong. .

The faded whispers of her grandmother lingered in a passing breeze as she fell to her knees.

“Remember, don’t let the light fade, shine bright my little firefly.”
.

The golden light sputtered and faded as she mourned, turning bright red as she transformed.
