SISTER
Shes a part of me ,
bits I do not see,
encased in a shell alien to me.
unsure of my role,
how to teach what I know,
with every precaution.
To teach her how to understand with caution.
Tell her about boys
and their forbidden toys
the ultimate humilation
without killing her faith in the nation
she looks up
I look down
and say
“Don’t let no one take you for a clown!”
FIRSTBORN
The first person who broke my heart at birth
beheld my flesh on earth
inserted everything I’ve learnt
How to love! How to hurt!
Forgotten of years of life
the undiscovered pages he did not write
crumbled and thrown aside.
The new chapter begun
he still had a daughter
not a son.
