PASSING FOR WHITE BY TANYA LANDMAN – REVIEW

QUICK REVIEW

@TanyaLandman’s Book “Passing For White” is a gripping tale based upon the true story of William and Ellen Craft. The actual details of their journey are told in their book “Running A Thousand Miles For Freedom”.

Set in 1848, Landman tale focuses mainly on the female protaganist Rosa, bringing to life Rosa’s experience through a first person narrative Landman weaves a beautiful web of love against all odds.

The lingering sense of loss and idenity are a current theme throughout the narrative but the strenght of Rosa pulls you through the narrative and her journey. Introducing characters such as Dough Lady, The Yankee and Cheese Face and White trash who provide subtle exposition within this beautiful tale as Landman carries us through a journey to Freedom.
A great read I would recommend for YA and ABOVE..
