It wasn’t meant to happen,

That lingering look or that tingling touch.

A sparkle of electricity and a stolen kiss.

Under the moonlight, behind the shed

When most, not all, were in bed.

The mesh of lips another, stolen kiss.

We had been camping, a group of three

Not including me.

When he bent down on one knee.

Teary eyed, open mouthed, he proposed to me.

Running through the evergreen,

Young and free.

Stolen kisses,

You plus me..
